Refunds & cancellation

The short version: before your document is generated you can cancel and get your money back. Once it has been delivered, we don't refund a change of mind — but if the thing we sold you failed, we always put it right.

Who you are buying from. Paddle.com Market Ltd is our Merchant of Record. That means Paddle is legally the seller, takes the payment, handles VAT and issues your receipt. Paddle also operates its own buyer-protection policy and may refund at its own discretion — nothing on this page limits that.

1. Before your document is generated

If you have paid but not yet had a document generated, email us and we will cancel and refund you in full. No reason needed. Nothing has been produced, so there is nothing to argue about.

2. Your 14-day right, and why it ends at delivery

For digital content bought online you normally have 14 days to change your mind, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Our documents are produced and delivered immediately — that is the entire point of the service. So at checkout we ask you to do two specific things: consent to us starting straight away, and acknowledge that by doing so you give up that 14-day right. Both are required by law for the right to end early, and we ask for both explicitly rather than burying them.

If you would rather keep the 14-day right, do not tick that box and do not complete the purchase. We would genuinely rather you didn't buy than felt tricked into it.

3. After delivery: no refunds for a change of mind

Once your document has been generated and delivered, we do not refund because you have changed your mind, decided not to use it, settled your case, or no longer need it. The work has been done and the file is yours — it cannot be handed back.

This includes drafts you asked for and received but chose not to file, and documents you decided to have rewritten by someone else.

4. What we always refund, whatever section 3 says

Section 3 is about changing your mind. It is not, and cannot be, a way of avoiding our legal obligations. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 what we sell must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and those rights cannot be signed away — not by this page, not by our terms, and not by anything you agree to at checkout.

So we will refund you if:

  • the document never generated, or never arrived;
  • the file is corrupt, truncated, or won't open;
  • what you received is not what was described on the pricing page;
  • you were charged twice, or charged the wrong amount;
  • the document is so poor that it is not reasonably usable as the draft we said it would be.

Email hello@fathersvoiceuk.com and tell us what went wrong. We would rather refund you than argue about it.

5. What we are not able to refund for

We sell a draft document for you to check, edit and take responsibility for. We are not solicitors, this is not legal advice, and we have never claimed the output is equivalent to a regulated professional's work.

So we cannot refund on the basis of the outcome of your case, a judge's reaction to a document, or a decision going against you. Those are not within our control and were never part of what was sold.

6. How to ask

Email hello@fathersvoiceuk.com with the email address you used at checkout and, if you have it, your Paddle receipt number. We aim to reply within 3 working days and to resolve refunds within 14 days of agreeing one.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, through Paddle. You can also contact Paddle directly using the details on your receipt.

If we cannot agree, none of this affects your statutory rights or your ability to raise the matter with your card issuer, an ADR scheme, or Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.

This policy sits alongside our terms of use and privacy policy.
